The Greater Kansas City Festival of Faiths aims to foster awareness, interaction, and relationships between people of diverse faith and cultural backgrounds in an area rich
The Festival’s goals include:
- Widening public participation in interfaith experience
- Building relationships that foster dialogue around pluralism
- Casting a spotlight on Kansas City’s many interfaith opportunities
For the Festival, performance experiences are emphasized. Special events like Kansas City’s signature interfaith drama, The Hindu and the Cowboy, offer a platform that draws people together and provides a common experience. Performances expand appreciation and compassion for different backgrounds and perspectives in our pluralistic world. Performance is also a centerpiece from which to inspire dialogue.
The Festival has additionally featured nationally known speakers who appeal to a wide spectrum audience, also serving to engage new individuals and segments of the community in interfaith activity.
As a collaborative organization, the Festival helps call attention to the area’s interfaith, religious, cultural and civic organizations and the numerous opportunities they provide to build appreciation for our pluralistic community.
